This project is intended to take children on a journey in megalithic Malta. Before Stonehenge in England was dreamt of, before the mighty pyramids were raised in Egypt, the ancient inhabitants of our tiny island had built monumental temples.
Legend has it that a giantess carrying a baby lay down to sleep on a plateau above the sea. At break of day, the villagers were amazed to see that a temple had mysteriously appeared overnight. They named the temples Ggantija for the giantess. |
