Teacher's Guide & Extra Activities
The role of the teacher in an educational virtual environment should not be underestimated. WIthout direction, younger children can lose focus and be overwhelmed by the amount of data provided. The virtual environment should be accessible for children to dip in and out of, and in a classroom environment, the teacher should discuss with the class the objectives for that particular session. Questions for different sessions might include : What do you think about the legend of the giantess who built Ggantija? What materials did neolithic people in Gozo use to build their huts and their temples? What skills did neolithic people have? What did they eat? Why do you think they worshipped the goddess of fertility? Associated (age-related) Activities might include : Colouring in pictures Creating jigsaw puzzles or postcard from screenshots Building a model of Ggantija Creating some of the artefacts in use at the time (eg a fire jar) |
